... Meet Our Poets ...

Spoken Word (n)  is poetry intended for onstage performance, rather than exclusively designed for the page. While often associated with hip-hop culture, it also has strong ties to storytelling, modern poetry, post-modern performance, and monologue theatre, as well as jazz, blues, and folk music.

Speaking Life into The Mic...

Due to its immediacy and direct rapport with its audience, this type of poetry often contains references to current events and issues relevant to a contemporary audience.

At its best, spoken word is a powerful, high-energy form of expression that attracts artists and audiences of all ages from a wide range of disciplines and socio-cultural backgrounds.

Dylan Nowack

I started writing spoken word in early 2016 when me and a buddy from school decided it would be cool to make a spoken word EP. There was just so much I wanted to share with people, but then I started reflecting on my relationship with a homeless man in my hometown. He and I only had a few conversations spread out over the course of a few months, but I had learned so much about him and his struggles and how his life came to be this way. Inspiration had struck!

Isaac Lee

I've been writing poetry for a little over a year, first as an outlet for stress and various anxieties, and then as more of a platform to share my thoughts and opinions and offer support for listeners who may deal with the same problems or concerns. I hope that those who listen can gain hope in our Father through the words I share, or at least understand that whatever you're going through, you're not alone.

In the beginning the lifestyle was lavish and I loved it. However, nothing but pain and carnage awaits those who lives that way. I was taken in by my mentor who ultimately made me face myself. He showed me how to look inside and help me battle my omens. Those that I conquered left; the ones that stayed was taken to God.
